Harbin Hot Springs - Master Planning and Rebuild Projects

More than five years ago, we began working with this renowned Northern California retreat facility that encompasses 1,700 acres after they suffered the near complete loss of their complex in the Valley Fire of 2015. Beginning with a couple smaller projects, our client turned to us to plan the rebuild of all the buildings after initially working with a larger San Francisco firm to do their master planning process and initial phase one buildout.

The history of Harbin is defined by a new age spiritualism and the multiple stylistic expressions of buildings that were created over decades of development. We were tasked with trying to recreate some of this eclectic character while looking to improve where they could, as an opportunity to upgrade the entire facility. Our projects included replacing the main hotel, restaurant and market, spa center, and multiple cabins, while also adding a new welcome center. The Domes hotel buildings were our first built project, but the rest of the work is waiting to be completed once the Covid pandemic is in the rear-view mirror. See our work on the Domes here.
