Residential Wildfire Rebuild

This Northern California, single family, residential home is a new build as a result of a total fire loss. After having worked with another firm to design a home that was approved for permitting, the family decided to switch gears and work with us.

Perched above amazing views of the Sonoma County hills, the design recalled the family's beloved, original home, but stepped it up a notch. The layout and volume were similar to what they had before, demonstrating the strong desire the family had to preserve their home and get back what they had lost. But, the new proposal flows more clearly, and meshes an open, spacious modern interior with a more traditional gabled roof exterior.

These renderings were our first attempts at taking our client process in a new direction with photo realistic renderings that have become so valuable to our clients in better understanding the final outcome of the design process. Taken aback with enthusiasm, we got a, "Whoa! That's our house?" delighted response from our client.

The contractor on this project is a Southern California outfit that is a disaster specialist, from clean up to complete building services, and whose expertise helped advocate very strongly for the homeowners with their insurance company.
